Classic Chocolate Chip Cookies
I would be remiss if I posted recipes and didn’t include my favorite chocolate chip cookies. There’s nothing incredibly special about this recipe—but it’s definitely an all-time favorite of mine. You can never go wrong with some classic chocolate chip cookies!
PREP TIME: 15 Mins
COOK TIME: 15 Mins
YIELDS: 18 cookies

INGREDIENTS:
-
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- ½ teaspoon baking soda
- ½ teaspoon salt
- 1 cup packed dark brown sugar
- ¾ cup salted butter, melted
- ½ cup white sugar
- 1 egg
- 1 egg yolk
- ½ tablespoon vanilla extract
- 2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chunks
- 1 teaspoon of sprinkling salt (use the thickest grind setting if you have a grinder)
- Optional: 1 cup crushed walnuts
INSTRUCTIONS:
-
- Preheat the oven to 325 degrees F and line two cookie sheets with parchment paper.
- Sift the dry ingredients; set aside.
- Combine brown sugar, white sugar, and butter in a large bowl until smooth. Beat in egg, egg yolk, and vanilla until well combined; gradually add dry ingredients and stir until dough is just combined. Add in chocolate chips and (optional) chopped walnuts.
- Drop spoonfuls (I do spoonfuls just shy of 1/4 cup in size) of dough onto the prepared baking sheets. Sprinkle the top of each dough ball with a pinch of salt.
- Bake in the preheated oven until edges are golden, about 15 minutes. Allow to cool and enjoy!
